The Hidden Gems Of Kerala: A Journey Through ‘The Kerala Story’ Movie

As a young person, I recently had the opportunity to watch “The Kerala Story” movie, and I must say, it was a truly inspiring and eye-opening experience. The movie captures the essence of Kerala’s history, culture, and people, and highlights the state’s many achievements and contributions to India.

However, I was dismayed to hear that some state governments are seeking to dispute the movie’s portrayal of Kerala. In my opinion, this is a shortsighted and misguided approach that fails to appreciate the value of cultural diversity and the importance of celebrating our differences.

The Kerala Story movie is a celebration of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage and the many contributions that Keralites have made to India and the world. It highlights the state’s achievements in fields such as education, healthcare, and social welfare, as well as its vibrant arts and culture scene.

But beyond that, the movie also showcases Kerala’s unique approach to governance and social justice, which has made it a model for other states to emulate. For example, Kerala has a strong tradition of investing in public education and healthcare, which has helped to improve the quality of life for its citizens and reduce poverty levels.

Furthermore, Kerala has a long history of social activism, with many individuals and organizations working tirelessly to promote human rights, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. The Kerala Story movie captures the spirit of this activism and highlights the many ways in which ordinary people have come together to create positive change in their communities.

Rather than seeking to dispute the movie’s portrayal of Kerala, I believe that state governments should embrace the diversity and richness of their respective cultures. They should work to promote cultural exchange and dialogue, and celebrate the unique contributions that each state makes to India as a whole.

As young people, it is up to us to champion these values and push for a more inclusive and diverse India. We must reject attempts to stifle cultural expression and instead celebrate the many things that make our country great. And we must use platforms like “The Kerala Story” movie to inspire us to work towards a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
