What Does The Mahakal Corridor Incident Tell Us About The Government?

Source: India Posts

Ujjain, Mahakal corridor inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi last year in October touted as one of the finest pieces of religious architecture drawing scores of population from all across.

Damaged by strong winds, broken and torn into pieces, statues of various seers and saints, apathy and lethargy of state government is quite visible with the state machinery and bureaucracy shying away from shouldering their responsibilities.

With assembly elections approaching in Madhya Pradesh opposition Congress is in no mood to give a free pass to Shivraj Singh led BJP government in the state.

Accusing it of connivance with contractors getting undue favours Shivraj mama has turned his back on the corruption that has been existing there for a while by looking the other way round.

State government appears on a sticky wicket with no clear cut agenda and blue print rushing in with their ambitious projects and schemes meant for the welfare of ordinary common masses.

Accountability and transparency has totally become a thing of past in Madhya Pradesh governance plank. Resorting and pandering to rhetoric and populism becoming the easiest for fetching acceptance.
