5 Reasons Why IAS Is Popular Among Indian Parents

India is a country where career options sound very much limited. Being an IAS office is a dream for many people in India. This had led to rising of coaching centers in the country. Coaching centers are rising because of fulfilling the dreams of children. Every educational institution is just a startup that has the economic goal to maximize profit. The reasons are listed as follows:

1. Indian Education System

There are a lot of flaws in the Indian education system. No student in India is encouraged to think differently because of the rat race. A student gets his stream based on marks. Any student who has arts is just an average student. Science students are considered elites. If suppose an art student is frustrated, he can’t change his stream to science. It’s just a myth that a humanities student can’t understand engineering. It’s just that the education system doesn’t want to encourage learning. Schools create pressure on students that make learning very disinteresting. The Indian education system is something only adults can understand in terms of negativities. The Government should encourage new policies that will empower new skills. A student should have the freedom to learn whatever he wishes and there should be no judgment based on the stream.

2. Marriage of the Bride

It’s very much irritating that the Sex ratio is bad in India. There was a great message conveyed in the movie “Jayeshbhai Jordar” that everyone wants a son and no one wants a daughter. These people who have such bad thinking must understand that a son will be less likely to get married if no one encourages the birth of a daughter in India. Many Indian families who have daughters will marry their daughters to IAS officers or any Government servant. This creates a mindset in Indian parents that their sons should become IAS just to get a girl for marriage. Success is defined in the Indian education system as when a person is married and also gets a Government job.

3. Exploitation in the Private Sector

Not every head of the company is bad as some companies even train freshers or even help their employees grow in an organization. Many private companies exploit their employees and even judge them without even looking at their skills. The solution should be to improve the education system that encourages unique capabilities. Indian parents are very much aware and that’s why they don’t want their children to join the private sector. With every generation comes creativity and that should be encouraged. Medical frauds in Private hospitals are also another cause due to which middle-class families feel disrespected in society.

4. Compensation of the IAS officer

Every Indian middle-class family wants that their children earn something for them in life. IAS officer is given a lot of perks like a car, house, and many things. That’s another reason why every middle class wants their children to be IAS officers. An IAS officer is even given a lot of fame and there is no doubt that it’s an overhyped profession. The Indian relatives and neighbors are giving value to IAS but no one wants to think about the development of the country. Indian people should think that if the country doesn’t develop then no new opportunities will arise in the market. No school or college will encourage learning as learning comes only with compassion.

5. The Indian Government

Many of us should be aware that Indian what facilities Indian Government is giving to its employee is mainly because of taxes middle-class people pay to the government. Ministers and Government officials are exempted from taxes due to which IAS is a popular career in India. That’s why competition is increasing in India. There is a lot of corruption in the Government and many elites are taking advantage. This had let to poor mismanagement in the country.

These are the causes of why Indian parents want their sons to be IAS officers. Being an IAS officer is a great career but that doesn’t mean that IAS is the only career. The post is written to promote awareness of the flaws of the mindset of the Government and the citizens of India which can be removed only by passionate youths. Always study to follow your passion and don’t ever study just to impress relatives. Society has no means to snatch the rights of any person as Article 21 of the Constitution of India gives us the right to life. Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution of India prescribes freedom of speech and expression and no individual or the Government has the right to violate such rights. Every person is unique no one cares about another person’s life.
