Biden’s Request Makes Yoon Suk Yeol To Render American Pie

Without any doubt, it was not the first time South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol tried a song to sing before singly an important gathering. He was on his six-day visit to Washington to discuss a range of issues. He has reportedly secured a landmark deal with the US to counter the North Korean nuclear threat, as BBC has said in the news.

Holding the microphone South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol tried to sing loudly though in tune the first verse of Don McLean’s song American Pie to great applause. It surely got the gathering present on the occasion clapping with all the mirth at the end of a state dinner just at the White House recently.

It was undeniably a different moment when even President Joe Biden could not control himself from instant appreciation. Do we not find Presidents developing the habit of singing before the crowd on some very much significant occasions? First, we learnt of the news of France’s President and now South Korean-aged President following similar expressions. When it comes to singing both the Presidents remain devoted music lovers of some of the most sought-after pieces.

62-year-old President Yoon did not forget to stress that the song he read in his sweetly sonorous voice happened to be one of his favourite songs during his school days in the year 1971. Quite elder in age President Biden asked him to sing the particular song as the video shows.

It was not Yoon’s first time singing in public. He appeared on the famous South Korean TV show All the Butlers, wowing its celebrity hosts with a sparkling rendition of the K-pop ballad No One Else, by Lee Seung-Chul on the campaign trail in 2021.
