I come through a path without any connection with this new world full of competition and complexities. It was not a smooth journey to reach here. Fear of losing myself and lack of confidence were constantly with me while crossing the path.
With all those fear and uncertainties, I am growing into a version of myself who is more confident and free.
I come from a village where people (except a few) never heard of KFC, Domino’s or even they’ve no idea what a restaurant means. Only a few houses have a TV. We still go to neighbours’ houses to watch our favourite tv shows. We’ve never gotten the opportunity to come outside of the village, most of them never travelled on a train (the station is 2 hours away), travelling on a flight (the airport is 4 hours away) is just like a daydream for them. It was only in between 2017 and 2018 they got an electricity connection that’s also not affordable to all of us. The only road connects us to the highway, and the daily market was concretised in 2018. Before then, we used to travel to the market for daily needs via an old wooden bridge; the road was like a paddy field during summer, and there was no public transportation; bicycles and few motorcycles, and cars were the only means of communication. My village still doesn’t get a daily newspaper supply.
Now little by my, people are witnessing some glimpses of the outside world. People like me are their lens of looking at it. There’s a huge responsibility on our backs to build ourselves skilled, more robust and efficient so that we can lead our people towards holistic growth and development.
Struggles are still there, but it’s bearable, and I have the trust in myself to overcome all of those, one by one.
