Writers narrate their time. They speak relevant things and try to make a complete comprehension of the good and ills of their societies. Not so many days ago, I had a chance to get through the artistic caliber of a young Sopore writer whose work I found a pleasure to eyes & soul. “Tik Tik Boom”, a crispy collection is themed on a range of societal issues. Those who care about the virtue & vice of our society will find themselves gasping and holding their breath at the very first peep into this book. An emotional roller coaster that doesn’t shy away to speak the darkest of realities.
Her chosen subjects, uniformity in flow, the art of expression and her appeal is extraordinary & timeless in the times we live in and for the future too. There’s always a need for good and modest literature to make a push towards societal change and for the same this author has provides obvious material.
The books highlights grave concerns like dowry custom and the caste superiority enjoyed by a big lot in today’s society. It emphasizes that caste divisions dominate in our housing, marriage and employment routines. The author believes that caste division has largely harmed our society and disintegrated our purpose. The widespread discrimination as a consequence of this baleful division has hampered the growth of a big section who would otherwise prove themselves very fruitful for the betterment of the society.
In chapter titled “Astine’s Success”, Sadaqat establishes that future belongs to dreamers and that every great dream begins with a dreamer. She wants readers to understand the magic of faith in oneself or rather wants them to chase until everything is achieved.
Another important aspect of this book is that the author has sensibly tried to restore the track of education and it’s purpose. In today’s Kashmir, the idea of obtaining high grades is voraciously ingrained in the minds of people and that is a problem. The author wants people to change their outlook about the same, act responsibly and that there is a lot more to education than securing good grades. We all should know what our wards are good at and help them develop in that way should be our priority, says the author.
This book, as I witnessed, is a rainbow of hope and a way forward. There’s so much music in making and all we need is to appreciate it. Thank you for the good read!
