Week 2: Writing Prompt For Campus Bloggers Part 2

Hello Campus Bloggers! How has the past week been for you? We had a wonderful session last week where the Youth Ki Awaaz content team interacted with a small group of campus bloggers – we played ice-breaker games, shared the campus issues we’re most passionate about, and also learnt so much in the process! We’d be doing many more of these in the future, so if you want to be a part of them, make sure you never miss an email from us 🙂

We are so excited to read everything that you write on and do remember to put your article links in the comments below so we can all share notes!

Here’s week 2, prompt set 2, for you:

Prompt 1:

Do you remember the first day you went to your college? Do you remember the first friend you made? Are you still friends with them? For me my first friend in college continued to be one of my closest friends till date! And I really, really think this is a universal phenomenon. We are all ears for your story! Tell us about the first friend you made in college. How did you meet them? How did you get to know them? Tell us about the time that made you realise this one will be your forever friend.

Prompt 2:

Last week, a viral video on Twitter showed a Muslim student talk about her experience with a teacher, who went off-topic during a history class and started abusing Muslims. The incident allegedly occurred at Balotra Government College MBR, Rajasthan. When she complained against the teacher, her protests were also met with hostility from a student named Raju Chowdhary who allegedly made threats of violence. Do you think educational institutions are becoming increasingly discriminatory? Do your teachers still welcome diversity and mutual respect in your classrooms? College campuses have always been supposed to be our safe spaces, but do you feel safe in yours? Have you ever experienced or observed something similar in your college? We want to hear from you!

Hope these prompts help you in writing your next campus blog on YKA. Please feel free to use any or both of these, or something else entirely that you want to write about. There’s no word limit so write however much you want to!

Do share the piece you write in the comments section here. Happy writing!
