Tripuri is the main tribe of Tripura State. The soil son of Tripura.
Rignai is the traditional attire of Tripuri Tribe those who speak Kokborok. Like every other communities, Tripuri Community has also their traditional attire called “Rignai Risha” . This attire is similar to the traditional attires of other indigenous communities in the north-eastern Indian States.
This attire has two part one is “Rignai” another is “Risha”. It is worn by wrapping it around the waist. Sometimes it is worn with “risa” which is a piece of cloth wrapped around the bust. It is worn by the every Tripuri women in Tripura. A similar kind of rignai is worn by Manipuris.
Rignai Risha is also known as Rinai Risha in Bangladesh. Tripuri Community also exist in Bangladesh where They called “Rinai Risha”.
