How Positive Thinking Leads To Success

Before telling you how to think positively, let me tell you a little about the book and its author from which I will tell you today how to think positively .

“Think and Grow Rich” – You may have heard the name of the book. Some may have read it. It is a classic in the world of self development books. The author of the book is Napoleon Hill. Most of the self-development bestsellers coming out today are influenced in one way or another by Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich, and Dale Carnegie ‘s How to Win Friends and Influence People . These two books are essentially the greatest classics of the genre.

“Think and Grow Rich” is so popular that many people don’t know that Napoleon Hill wrote another self-improvement classic. One such classic of his is, “ Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude ” – in this book he writes about how positive thinking can lead a person to success – and also shows how to think positively.

Today we will know the way to think positively from the book review of “Success through a Positive Mental Attitude” . But before that let’s briefly know why positive thinking brings success.

Why Does Positive Thinking Bring Success?

If you want to achieve something, you must first believe that you can achieve it. If you don’t have the ability or the condition to achieve it at the moment – yet if you believe – then you can achieve it. Because from belief comes effort, and from effort comes achievement. If you believe that you can do it – you won’t give up even if you fail again and again – then you will eventually succeed by learning from mistakes and failures. Because once you make a mistake, it will not be the same again.

Just don’t lose faith. Always be positive that you can. Don’t give up and try.

On the other hand, if you lose faith – in other words, start thinking negatively – you’ll stop trying. As a result you will ultimately fail.

Napoleon Hill wrote, If there is only one character trait to be credited with success, it would be the ability to think positively. Let’s take the case of Henry Ford, who was told by his engineers that the sophisticated “V8” engine he wanted to build for the car was not possible. No one can do it. But Ford believed that once an idea came – it could not be impossible to implement. And in the end it was Ford who produced the engine – which gave the modern motor vehicle a new power.

According to the author, those with PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) are not afraid of failure. No matter how many times they fail, they keep trying until they succeed. Because they believe, what they are going to do – is definitely possible. They are always learning, strengthening themselves from each mistake and trying again. As a result, they eventually leave successfully.

Positive Thinking People See Temporary Failure As A Challenge

While normal people see failure as the end, Positive Thinking (PMA) people see every failure and difficult situation differently. When faced with any difficult situation, they feel challenged instead of frustrated. And see it as an opportunity to make yourself a little more efficient and powerful.

Instead of giving up when faced with failure or hard times, they redouble their efforts. Find your own weaknesses and try to overcome them. Where others retreat without seeing any hope, positive thinkers step forward and give others the courage to hope. This is why others accept them as leaders. And most of the credit for success goes to them.

Positive Thinking And Caution

Many people think that success comes only by thinking positively. It is not like that. Along with positive thinking, you also need to plan and work accordingly. Otherwise, positive thinking is nothing more than a dreamy sky.

Suppose you want to become a millionaire by doing business . You think about it all day long, but if you only think about it, and don’t act on it – the thought will remain a thought. Along with positive thinking you must plan accordingly and act accordingly. Otherwise, at some point when your hopes are not fulfilled – negative thoughts will fill your head – and eventually you will give up. And failure means failure. Success doesn’t come overnight, most of the time the road to great success is hard. Repeated failure leads to success. And to overcome those failures and get ultimate success, your biggest strength can be positive thinking.

So, you need to know the right way and method of positive thinking. And Napoleon has described the way very nicely in simple language in his book ” Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude “. Let’s know the right ways of positive thinking in the light of that book.

Ways to think positively:

01. Eyes And Ears Should Be Kept Open

Many of us do not walk consciously. We do not think deeply about the daily events and surroundings. Or even if you think about it, the negative or negative things are more visible. Most of the time we just look at the problem. But those who succeed through positive thinking, find opportunities within problems.

If you see a problem around you, and complain about it like everyone else – you tend to focus on the negative like most people. But those who have succeeded – from the dawn of human civilization to the present day – have looked at these problems in a different way. They saw those problems as an opportunity to show their worth. They want to go deep into a problem with their eyes and ears open, and succeed in solving that problem.

Everyone wants to do something big in life. No one wants to be let down. But setting a goal to grow up and thinking positively are not the same thing. If you try to see and hear the negative and harmful aspects as well as the positive aspects of each thing, or think of a solution to a problem – you will have a higher chance of success than others.

Where others see only negativity, you see opportunity. So keep your eyes and ears open at all times and do not think about everything from one side, think from different angles. Only then, you will see opportunities to do something positive in everything. Maybe the biggest problem around you contains the ingredients to meet your goals.

 02. Write Down Goals, Set Deadlines And Break Down Big Goals Into Smaller Ones

Not only Napoleon Hill, but almost all self-development experts give these suggestions. Writing down your goals will give you a clear picture of your goals. Writing in scientific parlance is called “psycho-neuro-motor activity” – simply put, writing requires you to think deeply, and pay attention. It brings to mind many details about the target, which do not normally come to mind.

After writing down the main goal in detail, you need to break that goal down into smaller goals. And when to finish each small goal – set a deadline. These should also be arranged in the form of a written plan.

Many times we get scared after setting a very big goal. We don’t panic as much as the tension works when fixing first. But after some time the big goal starts to scare us. As a result, at times we feel that such a big goal is not possible for us to fulfill.

This negative thinking can be relieved by dividing the goal into smaller parts.

Imagine, your goal is to climb ten floors up the stairs. Now, if you look at ten floors at once, you will feel a little scared. But if you think about going up ten floors first and plan how to get up one floor – and climb the stairs one by one – then it won’t seem so difficult.

Ten years to own 10 crore rupees – instead of thinking about it all day, write it down in one place. Then plan what you will do each day to achieve that goal. Set weekly and monthly goals and work towards that goal every day. Only then will you be able to stay more positive. Achieving small goals little by little will keep you motivated all the time. – No negative thoughts will come to mind even with a big goal at a time.

03. Bring The Subconscious Mind Into Positive Thinking

Most of our thoughts and actions are actually controlled by our subconscious mind. If positive thoughts are not inculcated in this subconscious mind – then the conscious mind is also affected. You will get into trouble if you consciously think positively.

The author says, we can train the subconscious mind to have a positive attitude through regular practice. In the book, the author talks about a very simple method. The method is called “Autosuggestion”. According to psychologists, if a person hears or tells a lie over and over again – then at some point he starts to believe it himself. If you say a specific positive statement (eg, ‘I am a happy person, I will be successful in life’) several times when you get up in the morning and when you go to sleep at night – within a few months it will start to have a positive effect on your subconscious.

Nowadays almost everyone has a smartphone, as well as headphones are readily available. If you listen to a positive motivational speech whenever you find time during the day – you’ll find that at some point those positive words are affecting your thinking. You will immediately start thinking positively about everything.

04. Change Bad Habits, Adopt Good Habits

You might be surprised to know that if you wake up and make your own bed first thing every morning, your day will be much better. If your habit is to wake up in the morning and leave your bed untidy, or have someone else do it for you – changing this habit by waking up and making your own bed every day will create a positive attitude at the start of the day. Because, however small, you’ve done a useful thing by getting up in the morning. Just looking at a well-made bed will put your mind at ease. If you don’t believe, you can check. You will understand yourself.

Changing habits is actually not that difficult. Any bad habit can be changed by using willpower . In this way , get up early every day and practice a little meditation or physical exercise – you will see that your mind is much better than on other days. If you can get rid of a bad or harmful habit and replace it with a new good habit , your self-confidence will increase a lot. With these small achievements, a feeling of well-being will be created in your mind. You can think positive about everything.

Habits of eating more, sleeping more weakens the body. When the body is weak, the mind is also weak. As a result, more negative thoughts come to mind. If your body improves by changing habits, your mind will also be stronger, and you will be able to think more positively than before.

People who have the power of positive thinking actually see things differently. You must have heard this saying ‘ If you change your perspective, your life will change ‘ . People who always look at everything in a positive light – never give up. If they fail in something, they try to find the root cause of the problem without putting the blame on others, and without stopping to work . The author calls this process “ look out for missing pieces ” . Finding this missing piece in any problem makes solving that problem much easier. It is a very important part of positive thinking.

Whatever problem you run into, something has gone wrong. If you try to blame others or the situation, or give up – you will fail. Instead, if you have a positive attitude, that is, see the problem as another opportunity to improve yourself – then you will see that through effort you have solved the problem. No matter how difficult the problem is, don’t give up. Believe that if you try you can. This is actually the best way to think positively.
