Doordarshan come in India on 15 September 1959 with experimental brans meter in Delhi. It was modest beginning with makeship studio,witha low power transmission and only 21 community tv sets.all India radio provided the engineering and program professionals a daily 1 hour service with a news bulletin was started in 1965.in 1965 tv service were extended to a second city Mumbai by 1975 Tv stations came up in Calcutta, Chennai, Srinagar, Amritsar and Lucknow in1975 -76, the satellite in intranfrucld on tv experiment (SITE) brought TV program for people in 24 hundred villages in the most in Ances able in the least development areas through the satellite.
