The big suspense on the mayor is almost over. Who will be the mayor and of which party? In fact, on the day of the results, the statement of the BJP leaders that ‘Mayor to BJP se hoga’ had increased the heartbeat of many people. That is, the suspense had deepened regarding the answer to this question. But now it seems that BJP has changed its mind.

Delhi BJP has now appeared to have turned from its earlier emphasis on claiming the mayor seat in the MCD. This is quite clear from the Delhi unit party chief Adesh Gupta who has recently declared that his party will play the role of the opposition in the MCD.

The matter was very close in the results, in such a situation, political pundits were speculating about cross-voting. This is because the election for mayor is not held on the party line. There the councilor does not have any party but personal rights. The whole process of voting is also based on a secret ballot.

Though he did not fail to point out that his party has done fairly well and got very good strength in MCD. He also maintained that the AAP could not give the kind of performance that it did in the assembly, so we will prepare for the coming days and the next elections.

On the day of the MCD results, many BJP leaders claimed that the mayor of the Corporation would be theirs. Although now it is saying that it will amicably play the role of a strong and responsible opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

The BJP leaders’ statement that ‘Mayor to BJP se hoga‘ had increased the heartbeat of the public. That is, the suspense had deepened regarding the answer to this question. But now it seems that BJP has changed its mind.

The Aadmi Party has indeed experienced a meteoric rise in MCD elections. Now it will have its mayor and a free hand in running the affairs of the municipal area. Congress got only nine seats in the 250-member Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

But news informs that AAP got 134 Councilors. While Bharatiya Janata Party got as many as 104 seats. With this result, the BJP has been thrown out of the MCD’s power after 15 extended years.
