The article aims to show why India has become unsafe for women and why our country is unsafe for women worldwide. When I started observing and researching it, I got a standard view that traditionally our elders socialize to boys be tough and strong. But not in those places where the an actual need for strength. When I observe on the road, the boys have the worst habit of teasing girls and laughing at them.
And to see girls while she is walking on the road and they unnecessarily pay attention towards her makes girls fear walking alone on the road. When I surveyed in college about the fear of walking alone on the road, many gave the same answer, if somebody comes from the back and takes away with them. They have a fear of teasing and harassment in public. According to the research, the less educated boys and those boys whose parents were forced to do work. They do this type of thing usually at Educational institutes.
Causes
The major causes of those problems are alcohol, extreme anger, less education, health crisis, drinks and sometimes the stupid mentality of society. We need to change our mentality, especially men’s. Mainly, society blames women for losing respect and the prestigiousness of family. Society needs a mentality when a girl becomes a victim of abuse and harassment. Men lose their respect and the prestigiousness of family while abusing innocent women. We are rich in traditions and culture, but negative customs destroy women’s lives. Our men traditionally socialize in their minds that women are like a toy. They can use them whenever they want and however they use them. Women are the prestigiousness and dignity of a nation.
Why do women not use public and private transport?
In India, 47% of women do not use private and public transport. They give priority to using the walk on the road. Even female employees do not use public transport. Because the reason for not using buses is fear of teasing and abuse. If people see women alone on the bus, they come to squeeze. They are not thinking about what they are doing to enjoy themselves; they start to target. At that time, women should fight for themselves. Here she doesn’t shout for help; she should do self-defence. The parents who keep their daughters like a diamond should teach self-defence skills. Women should control their fear in front of goons.
Why do women become targets in offices?
Literate women are also easily trapped in the net of men. If she does work late at night in the office, everyone keeps a view of her. Their bosses start thinking to get benefit women. Even after getting higher and modern education, our society cannot eradicate the social evils related to women.
Why does domestic violence increase among women?
The major causes of domestic violence against women are unemployment, health issues, extreme anger, depression, inflation, and lack of respect for women. Another reason is the addiction to alcohol and beer. They start fighting with women when they return to their homes after taking drinks. The government should ban strong drinks which make people unconscious.
How does religious hate make women unsafe?
Religious discrimination is also a reason for the unsafety of women in the country. High-caste people understand that they can openly abuse the lower caste women on the streets. Hindutava group leaders also give threats of abuse and rape. They use abusive language against women’s respect. Among the religious hate and discrimination, they forget the respect and dignity of women.
Message to the society
We need to change society’s mentality not only for men but also for women. We should teach our children from the beginning to respect men and women. Raise your voice for the justice of an innocent woman. And demand the government make strict laws against culprits and ensure the enforcement of those laws.
