The topic titled – “Watching Porn” that I am going to pen down in this article will help you to fight against this prevalent disease among societies, youngsters, and adults. I don’t know how to express these feelings to myself before taking this decision to bring self-awareness.

Finally, I took the courage and strength to overcome this fear of identifying those sexual temptations or desires and confronting them.

I don’t consider myself a perfect human being as we all commit mistakes. But, the blunder mistakes we make further is not identifying the problems and acting courageously to combat them. Right from my childhood days, my so-called good memories got severely impacted by the intimate scenes shown in Bollywood and Hollywood movies.

I got habituated to this worst habit and started to watch those things repeatedly. Now, when I am 29 years old, I must be able to stop myself from doing this kind of immoral activity.

I believe we as human beings, are more responsible towards ourselves, our families, our society, and our country. Frankly speaking, in today’s digital world, people are so used to watching obscene or B-grade movies that they usually save them on their PCs, computers, and mobile devices. Thus, they think that they would watch it in their leisure time after their job.

They hardly make any truthful or honest effort to control the sexual thoughts running through their minds. I can say it is the most destructive virus that’s killing our well-being and making us weak over days, months, and years.

We begin to lose our self-esteem to one extent that it never matters to us who the woman or girl in front of us is; whether it could be our wife, daughter, or mother. We are shamelessly watching exaggerated porn movies.

0Seeing this, again and again, we feel that our hearts and mind are calm, considering it as the stress-busters. We feel like the tiredness of the whole day is disappearing in a pinch.

We all certainly need the utmost seriousness and strong will to overcome these sexual feelings. Ever thought, about what advice will you pass on to your kids and your lineage? At one crucial stage, when I moved out of my home, went to internet shops, and got addicted to watching the naked couple, kissing scenes, and bikini girls were my routine during my teen days.

I completely got intoxicated by the porn drug that made me feel inferior, nasty, and self-destructive. With years passing, I somehow controlled those wicked feelings and strong desires that could have been destroying me through the influence of porn and other fascinating sex things.

After years of experiencing these feelings, I came across 8 points that will help us to get up off the ground and be able to control our feelings.

1. Make the first step to accept your mistakes and identify where you have gone wrong.

2. Adopt a hobby. You can learn any craft or do anything that makes you feel happy.

3. Surround yourself with good people around you. There could be a supportive and caring mentor, spiritual friend, and family member to make you comfortable while having a one-to-one discussion about your problems like sex appeals or intense sexual desires.

4. Watch some Dharmic types of movies, documentaries, and interviews. You can even watch some inspiring and motivational speakers active on social media channels. There are so many out there who are sharing their experiences with young audiences on how they came out of this worst watching porn habit. 

5. When you are alone, and suddenly sexual feelings strike your brain. Go outside for a walk or take a bike ride.

6. Always speak about your problems with your wife or girlfriend and vice-versa. Sharing your emotions, feelings, and problems with them would help you to make your relationship much stronger.  Sometimes, you never know they might also going through such difficult times.

7. Seek some counselor’s help or doctor’s advice when you are excessively feeling the sexual urge.

8. Create a calendar reminder to track how many days you stayed away from watching porn on various electronic devices.

Actions speak louder than words. Remember to practice these eight helpful steps daily that I prepared myself. One day, we all can overcome these bad dirty thoughts and excessive watching porn and even masturbation.

Life is all about staying healthier, being happy, and doing productive things that benefit you, your family, and society. 

“Precautions is better than cure”, is a famous proverb that we all learned from our schooling days. However, we’ve hardly deeply ever understood this line. I wanted to reflect upon my past experiences to focus on where I fell into this trap of wrongdoing. I hope this article will guide you to make you and me more accountable for our actions (Karma).
