Watch ‘Virata Parvam’ To See Vennela Revolting Her Way Through Life

Some spoilers ahead!

A story of two revolutionaries set upon the strong grounds of a revolution, “Virata Parvam” is not ready to be called a love story as such. Vennela, born in the hands of a revolutionary amidst bloodshed and gore turned out to be a rebel since childhood: be it jumping into the water to get her doll back or reading poems from a book that has been banned, breaking off her marriage to embarking on a journey to find the love of her life and not giving up despite all the difficulties that she faced, Vennela never stopped fighting ever since she stepped out of the comfort zone of her house having read the book of poems by Ravanna that she claimed had set her soul on fire.

The movie successfully draws several parallels between Vennela’s childhood and her eventual fate. Just like the young girl with no knowledge of swimming or survival in the midst of deep water jumps off to protect her doll, an equally stubborn Vennela falls in love with Ravanna initially and later the revolution.

The scene where she falls off the cliff as Ravanna shoots her seems like history repeating itself: the doll she sought to protect and later thought of as the one she loved seems to have come to life to show her that life isn’t as easy as she thought it would be.

While some argue that her stubbornness is what killed her, others say it was love. Amidst the chaos of debates, Vennela, born in the hands of a revolutionary, died in the hands of one.

You can watch this Telugu film, starring Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati on Netflix.
