‘Uunchai’ Is A Film Which You Should Watch With Your Entire Family

Some spoilers ahead!

A film made for everyone, all age groups and devours all expectations with restrictions that each and everyone had.

Once in a while, there’s a film that touches your soul and inspires you for life.

The film-maker Sooraj R Barjatya’s films are always for family audience. Watching and growing upon his cinema, always loved films. Little to be honest, I had my guard up overthinking he’s 90’s film-maker, his style of film-making will be out-dated for today’s time.

But coming from Rajshri, His record Maine pyar kiya till Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, He always reclaims his throne for family audience and he does it again with Uunchai starring stellar cast, Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Neena Gupta, Parineeti Chopra, Sarika ji.

An overwhelming experience when all juaggernaurts are coming together for an story together.

Shri Amit ji can still make you run for money, reminding us all youngsters, age is just number. This year he’s been part of Jhund, Runway 34, Brahmastra, Goodbye and Uunchai, all amazing films in their own rights.

He provided note-worthy performance with hilarious, mature, foolish, redemption moments at ease. Man to behold, As told for generations to come, Amitabh Bachchan is AMITABH BACHCHAN.

Anupam Kher starring year with jaw dropping film “The Kashmir Files” and amusing film “Uunchai” is one of a kind range. Actors can dream to achieve such kind of appreciation at this age.

Boman Irani – Neena Gupta, What a Duo! They’ll takeaway your heart with their sincere performance. Such layered experience brings so much to screen.

Neena ji as Shabina were so phenomenal. She’s just amazing we all know that, Boman ji is the most screen friendly actor, I can see him play anything, Professor from Main Hoon Na, Virus from 3 Idiots, Now playing Dependable husband who decides to fulfil the promise of friendship. Sarika ji adds emotional value to screen, but i wish she had more to do.

Danny Denzongpa is heart of the film, Poem Pahadi ladki and His smile, such honest performance from limited screen time leaves such impact was unexpected. Parineeti after a long time, she indeed gives subtle and much required performance which we expect her to give, she in her limited screentime, her screen presence with such gigantic actors is signal of potential actor yet to tapped.

A heart warming film with well placed emotions, there’s some comedy, maturity, regret, unique music, ample mixture of happy/sad moments and overall inspiring. Film with it’s heart at right place.

VFX remained little clunky but, when you’re so invested in film’s story, you won’t actually notice it, maybe a slightly if you’re movie buff like me or watch too many brilliant vfx films. Tiny flaws can ignored when film as a whole comes together as one.

Limited budget but offered way more than assumed. This is what happens when writing source of material meets great actors. Much needed such postive energy in today’s time, where times post pandemic are lonely, lack of motivation and uncertainty. Life’s small and we need to not just survive but also live and enjoy the moments around us.

These kind of film I’ll recommend each and everyone out there, go watch it with family, friend, companion or just by yourself like me, Trust me you’ll leave theatre with a smile, a feeling with money well spent. Such ensemble makes me miss casting coups from early 2000’s and especially 90’s. I’m so glad, I grew up on such cinema, those films are some sort of magic, they’ve their own aura.

We need to see more films like uunchai on big screen, films like these it’s the experience they take home, I saw Uunchai in multiplex with 70/80% audience. We laughed, cried and left inspired altogether.

Audience might head treking after this, you might too after watching this one.

Some might disagree but I’ll consider Uunchai of the best films in 2022.

Now Go watch it, Thank Me Later.
