Stubble Burning Causes Pollution In Delhi

Air quality index is plummeting in the national capital with primary classes being suspended till further notice and companies encouraging their employees to work from home under such a situation the onus squarely lies with our political representatives refusing and rescuing themselves from amendments and alternatives to check the spate of worrying air pollutants PM 2.5 and PM 10 way exceeding their permissible limits. Neither Centre nor Delhi Government seems to be interested involving themselves in a remedy to the crisis indulging in political theatrics and whatboutery hurling accusations, allegations and charges against each other.

Stubble burning in states like Punjab and Haryana has made the air in Delhi toxic and harmful having a direct bearing on our physical and mental health making us to choke and suffocate especially for those with co morbidities – heart, lungs etc and the rest dying silently our pleas are falling on deaf ears politics has become too clientele dealing with those areas and agendas fulfilling their electoral appetite, ambitions and aspirations for them we are merely numbers distinctively clubbed in different columns and categories.

To me a systematic and sustained campaign against after effects of air pollution should be brought in at the earliest by citizens group and civil society organisations in their capacity pushing our resolve to fight it till the very end collectively and consciously for a common goal and good in everyone’s interest. Our today will decide our tomorrow
