Trigger Warning: Rape, Sexual Assault
In these modern times, every woman should have the freedom to enjoy their life with their wish. But even now, India cannot accept women’s complete freedom. If she freely walks on the road, evil can’t see the free women on the road and start playing with her like a toy. This year, India gets ranked ninth in the most dangerous country for women. Many developed countries stop their citizens from travelling to India. How shameful for us!
The national news highlighted releasing eleven rapists of Bilkis Bano, a victim of exploitation and harassment. In the Gujarat Riots of 2002, where the religious riots happened, Bilkis Bano and her other family members travelled to their native village due to communal riots in the city. In the village, when she was sitting with her three-year-old daughter at home, the goons entered the house and killed seven members of her family. Bilkis Bano was five months pregnant; goons killed her daughter with a stone. She died on spot. And Bilkis Bano and her mother and aunt became the victims of exploitation and sexual abuse. The perpetrators were jailed in 2009 and released on 15th August 2022.
Now the criminals have been released by the Government, and among them, one criminal, his daughter, gets an election ticket from the BJP party and does rallies with the parents. The release of rapists and criminals openly makes the atmosphere fearful for women. This is not only one case where the woman suffers from exploitation, abuse and harassment. But every day, hundreds of cases are filled in India of rape, harassment and abuse, where the largest population in the world lives. The most dangerous states of India are:
- Haryana
- Uttar Pradesh
- Delhi
- Assam
- Madhya Pradesh
- Bihar
And some other states. Still, from these states, women come ahead to get higher education. But, unfortunately, some become victims of human beings like animals.
Usually, Modiji raised the slogan of “Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao”, but eventually, modern India cannot give women safety. Now many cases of rape belong to politicians. Hathras case of 2019, the Dalit girl becomes the victim of rape by politicians. Many cases have come to be seen of women exploited and abused on the identification of caste. Recently, many videos have trended on Twitter, with oppressed caste women openly targeted on roads and hit by broad rods. People come to make videos but not to save women from goons. This year, that type of crime increased and openly made videos of targeting women on roads.
Hindutava leaders make videos and openly threaten Muslim women with sexual assault. Is this India where women get the threat of rape every day, using abusive language against women. Where is women’s equality? The Government can also not take strict action against culprits of exploitation, abuse and open threats of rape to women.
Many parents stop the higher education of their girls because of these situations in our country. Parents should teach their sons respect for girls rather than accusing girls of their fate. If we think deeply, it is very shameful how man is losing dignity daily despite having modern education. An educated man is having a relationship and leaves the girl if she becomes pregnant. They will leave them, and girls will die by suicide in fear of society’s evils. And the illiterate men openly target roads with oppressed caste women.
Remember, when one man abuses an unknown woman for the sake of himself, he loses his dignity and respect in society. And stop blaming women for losing respect and dignity. This should never happen with their families’ women; whether their women are safe or not, they know only that.
