Guinea-Bissau: Men Are Not Allowed To Date

This world: Guinea-Bissau, where the woman is the one who has to marry the man, then marry him!

I am now in Guinea-Bissau, in a tribe called Bijago, the only tribe that does not circumcise boys, and does not cut (l’excision) the lives of girls! They are determined to stay the way they were created!!

The local girl says:

Here’s a woman/girl who wants a guy/man! When he was betrayed, he went hunting for seafood, prepared delicious meals, brought them to his place and left them at the door! When you eat, you agree, you kneel traditionally. Marriage starts smelling!

Another English woman added:

Even the boys/men go around us, but he is not allowed to say anything, it is forbidden. Here in our house, the guy likes to close his mouth! He is wrong and asking for love from a woman/girl would be a disgrace!! Women are allowed to choose who they want.

Another thing that is special about this tribe is that in their culture there is no shame, there are no unspoken words, even those referring to gender, they don’t win.

Not only that, but also, in this culture, intercourse between groups is done like drinking water! And always, it’s a woman first!•••

BIJAGO tribe in Guinea-Bissau, the woman is the man!!

They say that men are like children, that they should not be beaten, that they are only to be teased!
