Bijapur

Officially known as Vijayapura, the city is known for its historical monuments built during the Adil Shahi dynasty. Take for instance the Gol Gumbaz. It is a 17th-century mausoleum which houses the remains of Mohammad Adil Shah, the seventh sultan of the dynasty, and other members of his family.

Coorg

Coorg is a hill station with a serene landscape. The Kodavan clan of the town, who excel in martial arts, is one of the highlights of the place. Its lush green landscapes has coffee plantations, several spices and tea cultivations. If you are a fan of filter coffees and sunsets, you know where to go.

Gokarna

Gokarna is a town on the Arabian Sea. If you are a beaches over mountains kind of person, then known that the town is home to beaches such as palm-lined Gokarna, Kudle and Om. The sight of coconut trees and pristine water, while you trek along beaches, will surely make for a trip to remember. Apart from beaches, it also houses many temples of importance for Hindu pilgrims.

Hampi

Hampi is an ancient village, dotted with centuries-old temple complexes from the famed Vijayanagara empire. Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, owing to the ruins of ancient temples, forts and other monuments there. It is also a popular tourist destination among Indians and westerners alike, so you will find that lots of little cafes and homestays have popped up all over the place.

Mysore

Mysore (or Mysuru) used to be the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore from 1399 to 1947. In its center is the seat of the former ruling Wodeyar dynasty i.e., the Mysore Palace. It palace blends Hindu, Islamic, Gothic and Rajput styles. The city is also home to the Devaraja Market, known for its spices, silk and sandalwood. You can also visit the Namdroling monaestry in Bylakuppe.

Mullayanagiri

Mullayyanagiri is the highest peak in Karnataka. It is located in the Chandra Dhrona hill ranges, in Chikkamagaluru taluk. At a height of 1,925 m, it is also the 23rd highest peak in the Western Ghats. There is a lord Shiva temple at the top, and for those who are not religiously inclined, the view from the top after trekking will be worth it. The weather is likely to be chilly so be prepared.
