New Delhi, 26th November 2022 – Supreme Court Advocate Dr Vivek Singh has sent a legal notice to Sony Pictures Networks and Dashami Creations for use of objectionable and derogatory language in “Punyashlok Ahilyabai” drama television series against Maharaja Suraj Mal, the great Hindu ruler of Bharatpur.
A drama television series name “Punyashlok Ahilyabai” which premiered on Sony Television and digitally streams on Sony Liv produced by Dashami Creations has created huge controversy by mentioning Maharaja Suraj Mal, the Hindu ruler of Bharatpur in bad light. In the notice, sent by Supreme Court Advocate Dr Vivek Singh, has asked Sony Television and Dashami Creations to stop making highly objectionable, derogatory, and unacceptable language about Maharaja Suraj Mal.
“You are hereby directed that you must tender an unconditional apology for hurting the sentiments of Hindu community at large in the form of an affidavit stating that you regret your statements and unconditionally withdraw them. Failing compliance I shall be constrained to initiate appropriate criminal and civil actions against you as per law, entirely at your risk and cost,” the notice read.
Dr Vivek Singh has also asked them to publish an apology in National Newspapers and render unconditional apology in upcoming episodes”. Failing to do so, they will face an appropriate criminal and civil actions for damaging the image of Maharaja Surajmal and hurting the sentiments of Hindu community, according to the notice.
