67th Kannada Rajyotsava Celebrated With Wheelchair Warrior

Kannada Rajyotsava, which falls on November 1 every year, is the day that the state was formed and is hence also called the Karnataka Formation Day. A state holiday is celebrated by hoisting the Karnataka flag, and many other cultural events are held. This year the 67th Kannada Rajyotsava celebration saw an inclusive face of it, where the first time a 90% physically challenged wheelchair-bound person hoisted the Karnataka flag in a community event in South Bengaluru.

Prestige Tranquility, a community in Budigere Cross celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava day in a grand manner. Along with other eminent personalities of this community, Dr. Sai Kaustuv Dasgupta was also one of the chief guests of this event. Popularly known as the Wheelchair Warrior of India, he is an International Graphic Designer, a Global Motivational (TEDx) Speaker, and India’s first disabled Certified Happiness Coach. 

He hoisted the flag and made the event inclusive. His presence motivated all and it reflected the diverse culture of Karnataka where everyone gets equal respect for their achievements and talents. Dr. Sai Kaustuv got felicitated by Rajyotsav Committee for his social contribution, he addressed the august gathering and rendered a Kannada song glorifying Mother Karnataka, the vision, ambition, and the warriors of the State.

Rajyotsav Committee of Prestige Tranquility along with Local Panchayat members made good arrangements to organize this event which not only highlighted the inclusive culture being practiced there but also encouraged the active participation of the residents to make this occasion successful. The event witnessed a grand closure with the Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Rajyotsava Badminton Tournament, Kids Fancy Dress Competition, and Sweet Distribution.
