It is unbelievable to see how just a small thought has the power to become a reality! I was 9 years old, when I first visited the beautiful city of Bangalore, Karnataka. My father was transferred to Bangalore in 2009 because of his job. It was in the summer of 2010 I visited him along with my mother and my sibling. I remember so vividly, that as soon as I was walking down the aisle to deboard the plane, an old man said hello to me and told me that I will surely love Bangalore. And it was indeed true! I came out of the airport, and I was amazed! I was amazed to see the weather! I being from Delhi, could never think of experiencing or enjoying such a pleasant weather. When I started exploring the city with my parents, there was a strange and strong feeling to be in that city or maybe study there.
Cut to 2019, I got admission to one of the best colleges of Bangalore. I soon shifted to Bangalore and it felt like life has come to a full circle; the city I visited multiple times before to meet my father, I was in that city I wished to be in! My father came back to Delhi in 2014, and after 5 years, I shifted there. However good or bad experiences of my college would have been, the only thing that comforted me during tough times or happy times was the fact that I am living my dream to stay here. I was too naive or immature to understand the concept of “manifestation” or “Law of Attraction” when I was younger but now that I understand these concepts, I truly believe that I manifested to be here in my first visit itself.
Be it Bangalore’s weather, the crispy dosa at Vidyarthi Bhawan, the long walk at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, the nightlife at Koramangala, the high auto fares, the hour-long traffic jams, the long drive to Kempegowda Airport (which definitely feels to be outside Bangalore), the getaway to Nandi Hills, comparing how narrow Bangalore roads are to Delhi, to feeling homesick and longing to go back to Delhi, all this sums up my memorable experience in Bangalore, which I proudly call my second home!
This city has taught me to be fearless, to be bold and become so self-reliant that I never have to depend on anyone for emotional support and that I am beautiful and amazing just the way I am! I was going to shift here permanently in 2011 with my family, but life had other plans, and I had to return here alone and live, maybe because the city sensed my sincere love towards it since the beginning than my other family members’! For me, Bangalore was and will always be my favourite city!
