It often happens that we get bored while doing something. Or there are days when nothing feels like doing anything. Usually we slack off in such situations, or stop working altogether. And this is very common. But if you want to achieve great success in life, you have to overcome this obstacle. Why this obstacle needs to be overcome, and how to do it – I will discuss that in this article.
You may have decided to take your business, or your career, to a certain place in the coming year . And you have a daily plan for it too. But since you’re a human, not a machine, sometimes fatigue, exhaustion, or just plain boredom can overtake you. This makes the work a little slow. If you don’t like to work, do you want to work? – Do not like to do? But if you want to achieve more than ordinary people, or establish yourself as an extraordinary person – then you must not be like ordinary people. When a normal person will temporarily go away from work due to fatigue or boredom – you should try to pay more attention to that work. You have to work even if you don’t want to.
Sometimes there will be times when you think “What’s the point of doing all this?”
This negative word comes to everyone’s mind. When boredom reaches extremes while working, the brain wants to step away from the task. Especially when you’ve just started working towards a goal, you’re having to cut back a lot, but you’re not seeing any results – that’s when you start thinking about it.
This is normal at the beginning of any big goal . If you start something, you will not see any results for a while – only successful people know this. Because they all have this experience. And during this time, the interest and enthusiasm for work drops to zero – and it starts to feel like there is no real benefit in doing the work. There is only so much suffering. This is when people give up . There is no counting how many potential ventures have been nipped in the bud because of this feeling or the words running through the head.
You have to remember, this is a trap. Once caught in this trap, not only a day’s work, but also an entire plan can be ruined. So whenever you feel like it, do it forcefully. Maybe take a break for a few minutes to refresh your head, or have some fun – but never stop working. Positive people also have negative thoughts. But their difference from ordinary people is that they put these thoughts aside and work to achieve their goals.
Work habits are more important than work
Think your handwriting is amazing, or you know great programming, or you’re good at marketing. Now if you want to use this knowledge and talent to achieve success, you have to practice them regularly , and using them you have to create something that is useful to people and brings you success.
But if you do a little writing a day or two a month, or a little programming, or whatever – you won’t get any success. Even if you are the most talented writer, artist, scientist or whatever else in the world today, your talent will not bring you success if you do not work regularly . There’s no doubt that you need to be good at something to be successful, but what’s more important than the skill is making the practice of that skill a regular habit.
The most difficult part of this process is to be persistent in achieving the goal. When you work towards your goals every day, naturally some days will feel good to work on, some days won’t. Some days you will do great, some days the work will not be good at all. It is natural that every day will not be the same. But whatever the job, you have to do it every day. You may not always be able to control the outcome of the work. But you can practice your skill every day if you want. This habit is actually one of the main reasons behind bringing great success.
Your best work can come out on your worst day
You can never tell which day you will give your best performance. When you get into the habit of making a daily do-it-yourself mindset. And whatever happens and whatever the task is – just put it out of your mind and get on with it – that’s when your creativity will be at its best. The habit and skill will become a part of you. And when that happens, even on a day when you don’t feel like working, your best work can come out.
Being too serious all the time can drain the creativity out of you. So sometimes work only out of habit. If you feel like working today won’t do you any good, do it anyway. Turns out, maybe the best work of your life came out of this ‘bad’ day. To reiterate the previous point: work habits are more important than work.
Appendix:
There is no dearth of writers, physicists, chemists, medical scientists, economists in the world. And for these to happen, a minimum level of knowledge, talent and education is required. Ordinary or average people cannot be these. But not all of them get the Nobel Prize. A little extra effort, a little extra attention is needed to achieve greatness. A Nobel laureate spends time in his lab or library when his colleagues travel or otherwise spend time away. Maybe he wants to have a little luxury like his colleagues, but the pull towards his goal keeps him at work. This little extra effort, the effort to work even if you don’t want to , turns Good into Great.
Yes, this task is not easy at all. This is an extreme test of your mental strength, and sometimes physical strength – but at the end of the day, it will take you far above the rest.
The day you suffer the most, understand, the day you outdo yourself. Extraordinary success awaits just on the other side of the ordinary man’s career. Where ordinary people stop, the journey of the extraordinary only begins. Doing this will push you a little further each time. Working towards your goals despite your reluctance will transform you from an ordinary person to an extraordinary person.
