5 Reasons Why ‘Four More Shots Please!’ Made Me Go No More Shots Please

Some spoilers ahead

I started watching four more shots please, as a joke initially and to kill time on my super long holidays. I finished it only because I wanted to see how this terrible lazy ass show ends. And boy, this has got to be one of the most obnoxious shows made on the history of female friendships. Every character is just sick. Started as a way of serving my guilty pleasures, left me feeling just the guilty part there was no pleasure at all lmao. And tbvh it got infuriating after a point. I’m also writing this because I wrote an article on “How I find Luv Ranjan and his movies problematic”.

Plot:

Four women who are so unrelatable and unbearable that you’ll laugh take trips, wear expensive clothes, have careers that sound fancy, one is a lawyer to wear designer power suits, one is a journalist for the heck of it, one is a SoBo spoilt woman and one is a gym trainer. Men are just supporting characters who are doing nothing and this show has a piece of weird empowering music with terrible soundtracks that I skipped the entire time.

The writer was so desperate to talk about consent, sex, trauma, feminism, empowerment, and something as serious as assault. The way they got it all messed up. This show was so whitewashed with sh*t like English fundraisers with men wearing tux and women wearing crazy designer gowns. Some random dude speaking in an English accent. *Sigh* It was just plain embarrassing, cringe-worthy and sad.

Acting:

How can you possibly make talented actors like Sayani Gupta, Kirti Kulhari, Bani J and Maanvi Gagroo look so bad? By making them the face of obnoxious and writing such a lazy script that you start despising the actors who are portraying these ill written characters. Screaming “vagina” near some water body doesn’t make you woke FYI. Just NOOO for me.

Manvi as the obnoxious SoBo Siddhi who was grieving the loss of her father was so sad to look at because what can you possibly do to make someone’s trauma appear funny? Sayani Gupta as a “fierce journalist” came across as such a tryhard and yeah they normalised her cheating on her partner saying “ It was just physical”. Bani J had nothing major going on this season except she was a gym trainer who started a fitness studio of her own and honestly her bits were a drag. Kirti as a lawyer was just okay and the only character I didn’t mind.

Reasons Why I Disliked It So Much:

1) Super Unrelatable

I mean I can’t even began to pen down how unrelatable this show was, straight out of the fantasies. The irony is they were trying to celebrate their “F-ups” by being in their immaculate clothes with hair done, at fancy trips without context and just everything we and my galpals could never. Also the fact that these women had a full blown careers. So bad.

2) Normalised Cheating

“The fierce journalist” cheats on her partner and it’s no biggie because it was purely physical. The absurdity of this!

3) Every Man Is A “Supporting Character”

All the male characters in this show were written to be so stupid and wannabe quirky it pissed me off. Anjana’s ex husband is so plain stupid.

4) Bad Cinematography

The way this series was shot is so amateur I’m crying because even the scene to scene transition was not smooth.

5) Unnecessary Soundtracks

The music of the entire series was such a major fail and these were too many songs which wasn’t required. The way they make it a musical like it’s some La La Land is sending me.

Conclusion:

That’s all folks! My recommendation- Do not watch it even for the cringe because it is totally not worth it. A hard 2/10 and that too for their outfits.
