This story of ‘Poisonous mushrooms’ comes from an anti-Semitic children’s book published by Julius Streicher. This summary is taken from a 1938 publication by the “Friends of Europe” in London. This was a part of Nazi propaganda against Jews in Germany where kid’s mind in school was contaminated with these stories where Jews were portrayed as nothing but a devil.
Reading through this story where an Aryan race mother is teaching immoral values of hatred to her child just for sake of what news said. This makes me feel how easily and blindly people believe news. No vigilant sensible eyes can understand the pain, trauma and sufferings of Jews who are compared to venomous mushrooms.
It was at that time when Jews were portrayed as rats, devils and ill omen and through movies, magazines, newspaper, it was made that people believe that Jews are curse and admiring them bane.
This must have impacted those innocent souls and polluted minds of millions who just believed this political propaganda. It is fact that many Jews died of this hatred even before entering the death chamber. This was a result of million deaths in Germany.
Since everyone was made to believe this unproven nuisance, nobody in history cared or even ever got to know about those secret gas chambers and Nazi killing operation or holocaust.
If people would not have blindly focused on one sided story, past could have saved many of them but remorse won’t help since we are left with nothing but those archaeological clues in form of their shoes, those carriages and gas chambers. This is what a propaganda can do at a large scale. Past is the witness and we the mere spectators.
