Sources in the Gujarat Police said that some Muslim men, who were caught allegedly throwing stones at a Garba venue in Kheda, Gujarat, were thrashed by the local policemen. In the viral video, a man is seen tied to a pole and beaten up with sticks and sticks, while a crowd of hundreds is clapping. Amid huge outrage over the video going viral on social media, state police chief Ashish Bhatia had ordered an inquiry into the incident. Sources said the panel investigating the incident would submit its report to the police in the next few days. Action will be taken against the accused policemen after the veracity of the video is confirmed.

The viral video showed policemen in plain clothes hitting men, who were allegedly caught throwing stones at the Garba venue. Kheda district deputy superintendent of police VR Bajpai had said that the head of Undhela village had organized a garba program at a temple on the night of October 3. The mob of the Muslim community tried to stop this from happening. When the Garba started, people from the Muslim community gathered and tried to stop the program. When people did not stop, they pelted stones. Many women and men were injured. A large number of police forces were deployed after the incident.
