Before arresting him, three squads of the Enforcement Directorate( ED) also raided his three bases. Raut was detained from his bungalow’ Maitri’ and argued to the ED office and arrested after an 8- hour interrogation. Raut is a big name in Maharashtra politics now, but in the 80s he used to do crime reporting in Mumbai.
Sanjay Raut, who started his career with LokPrabhaLok Prabha magazine, was looked upon as an expert in underworld reporting. His reports on Dawood Ibrahim, Chhota Rajan and the demiworld were extensively talked about in Mumbai. Raut’s name was raised in the world of reporting and he came in the eyes of Balasaheb Thackeray.
Raut’s visits to Matoshree aroseraised and the Shiv Sena chief offered only 29- year-old Raut to become the executive editor of Shivsena spokesman’ Saamana’. Raut couldn’t turn down the offer of the Shiv Sena chief and he has been its executive editor for the past 30 years.
He came around to Uddhav Thackeray after Balasaheb left. The way Uddhav formed the Govt with Congress and NCP in 2019, Raut came to be called the’ supposed tank’ of Shiv Sena.
Dawood Ibrahim was admonished
For Raut, it’s said that despite being a crime reporter, he never went to the police post and never met the police officers about any news. Dawood used to be the mastermind of the news of Raut, who did crime reporting.
It’s also discussed that Dawood Ibrahim used to come to Express Tower multiple times to give news to Sanjay Raut. Both used to sit and talk in the canteen then. This thing happened multiple times before Dawood’s name cropped up in the 1993 blasts.
On 16 January 2020, at an event in Pune, Sanjay Raut himself admitted that he’d met Dawood. He’d said,’ I had seen Dawood Ibrahim, I’ve also spoken to him. I indeed reprimanded him formally.
After joining Sanjay Raut Saamana, who became the voice of Balasaheb,
Sanjay Raut made multiple major changes in the magazine. Similarsimilar things startled appearing in the editorial, which were related to the ideology of Shiv Sena and traditionally this Newspaper came the voice of Balasaheb Thackeray.
He started writing articles in the language style of Bal Thackeray. Sanjay Raut used to write editorials, but after reading it, people understood that it was Bal Thackeray who was writing. This trial became veritably popular in Saamana and even today the editorial of the review is considered to be the sanctioned version of Shiv Sena.
After joining Saamana, Bal Thackeray got entry in politics,
Raut came veritably close to Balasaheb and graduallygradationally became a part of Shiv Sena’s internal politics still.Who studied B.Tech from Ambedkar College, was active in the student unit of Shiv Sena since his student life.
Seeing his thinking and vision in politics, Bal Thackeray made him’ Deputy Leader’ of Shiv Sena. After this party grew and he reached the Rajya Sabha for the first time in 2004 on a Shiv Sena ticket. Then he was also the leader of Shiv Sena. Sanjay Raut has also been a member of the commission related to Parliamentary and Home Department. A Rajya Sabha MP from Shiv Sena for the alternate time in 2010, also in 2016 and now in 2022. Sanjay, who has been an MP for four successive terms, came active after the 2019 assembly elections. Political experts say that Sanjay Raut had a big hand in forming the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi ( MVA), that is, a common government of Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP.
Sanjay Raut was the only person in Shiv Sena, who had good penetration in nearly every party in Maharashtra. He’s considered veritably near to NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and this is the reason why Uddhav Thackeray had given the entire responsibility of MVA construction to Sanjay Raut. During Uddhav Thackeray’s term as CM, Raut continued to act as a link between the three parties.
Uddhav Thackeray’s Daman didn’t leave indeed after the rebellion,
Raut is considered veritably near to Matoshree, that is, the Thackeray family. Indeed after the rebellion in Shiv Sena, Raut didn’t leave Uddhav Thackeray’s side and kept on his side. He kept his point vocally and kept trying to bring 40 MLAs who went with Shinde to his side.
Still, Shinde got the support of the BJP and Uddhav Thackeray had to resign from the post of Chief Minister. Raut has constantly targeted his opponents by participating in poems and film dialogues on social media.
