Panchayat In Gujarat Says Don’t Buy Goods From Muslim Shopkeepers

By Mohammad Charoliya

Gujarat: panchayat in Banaskantha had talked about fines for buying goods from Muslim hawkers. Now some pictures of a village in another city of Panalpur in this Gujarat have come to the fore, in which Muslims were told not to enter the village for business.

Banaskantha: The decree of a panchayat of Banaskantha in Gujarat has gone viral on June 30. It has been said in this decree that goods should not be bought from Muslim hawkers. Whoever does not do so will be fined Rs 5100. However, the police is talking about taking action in this matter.

Banaskantha belongs to the village panchayat of Vaghasan group of Gujarat. In this decree, issued on the letterpad of the panchayat, it was said that the fine for buying goods from Muslim hawkers was mentioned. It said that shopkeepers of Vaghasan village should not buy goods from hawkers of Muslim community in view of Taylor’s murder in Udaipur. It has been issued on the letterpad of the panchayat and has the signature and stamp of former sarpanch Mafiben Patel. In this letter it is said-

“If a shopkeeper is seen taking goods from Muslim traders, he will be fined Rs 5100. And that money will be given to the cowshed’.

When this letter became increasingly viral on social media, the administration took cognizance of it. On behalf of the Banaskantha administration, it was said on July 2 that the letter pad of the village panchayat of Vaghasan group going viral is not official. According to the report, Banaskantha District Development Officer Swapnil Khare said that the person who has signed the letter pad, does not have the authority to do so. This is because the post of Sarpanch is still vacant. Elections are to be held for this and at present, the Panchayat is currently under an administrator.

The administrator has issued a clarification on this. It said that the letter issued (earlier) is baseless and no one needs to follow it. There was also talk of legal action against those spreading rumours.

Another similar incident has come to the fore on July 3 in Sedrasana village of Banaskantha, Gujarat, posters have been put up in Sedrasana village, in which pictures of some posters have also come out in which it has been written.

People of Muslim community are strictly forbidden to come to this village for business, Sedrasan village of Hindu nation.

But the sarpanch of Sedrasan village said that posters and banners have been put up after ten o’clock in the night by an unfamiliar person because till ten o’clock in the night there was nothing in the village, till then I got the news, in the morning I got the poster and The banner has been removed, now I am also worried that there should be no further issue.

But in the pictures that went viral on social media, 11 youths were also standing with similar banners, when the Sarpanch Sahib was questioned in this regard, he did not give any answer to it.

The administration is talking about taking action on both these incidents but till now no action has been taken in this regard.
