Akshay Kumar’s Connection With Aam Aadmi Will Make Raksha Bandhan Special

Rating: 4 and 1/2 out of 5

Raksha Bandhan is a sure-shot smash hit. This time, the hero is Himesh Reshammiya. His music in the film is like a cherry on the cake; Akshay Kumar is terrific; his connection with the aam aadmi will make this film a special one.

Director Aanand L Rai crafts an immersive world of Raksha Bandhan. This one is not just for the ladies; it is for men too (after a while). Bhumi Pednekar is literally at her best, delivering a clap-worthy performance on the same tempo as that of Akshay Kumar.

Kanika Dhillon and Himanshu Sharma’s screen-writing is effective and special mention goes to Ishaan Chhabra for the score, another remarkable component of Raksha Bandhan. However, casting is the unique selling position here—a special 5/5 to it as it gels amazingly with the character writing.

The ensemble, mainly the sisters, have done a flawless job. They give Raksha Bandhan the perspective it deserves and the appeal, too. Sadia Khateeb and Deepika Khanna are excellent, while other others have their moments too.

There is not one moment in Raksha Bandhan that is dull. Smart-writing, well-executed scenes, quirky dialogues with decorated humour does it for this Akshay Kumar starrer; families will flock to theatres for this one packs a firm punch.

Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan is definitely superior to Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and as per my opinion has full chances of being declared the winner.
