It’s been 26 years, seven months and 26 days since he stood together with the nation and his duty calls during all the ups and downs. It was May 31st, 1996, when he joined C.R.P.F. After the rigorous training of 56 weeks, he joined as an ‘Assistant Commandant’, also known as A.C., on July 2nd 1997. In this stretch of 25 years of service, he has rendered services in U.P., Assam, Manipur, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Delhi, and J&K. He has served and operated in the highly infested militant-prone areas of Loktak Manipur, Narayanpur Chhattisgarh and Kuphwara and Budgam, Kashmir.
As an A.C., he was first deployed for security of Allahabad High Court. After that, he was posted in different locations throughout India like Aligarh, Dibrugarh, Assam, Manipur and Patna. During his deployment in Patna in 2001, he provided security to Lalu Prasad Yadav during his Fodder Scam, which was a corruption scandal, and he was the CM of Bihar back then.
Then after his tenure as an Assistant Commandant, he was promoted to ‘Deputy Commandant’ known as D.C. and as well as, was commended for the Commando Course at ‘National Security Guard’ aka N.S.G. In July 2003, he joined N.S.G. and was on deputation for seven years.
Earlier, for five years, he was posted in 12 S.R.G., N.S.G. as D.C. and then as a Squadron Commandant (Adm) at N.S.G. headquarter in Delhi. During his service in N.S.G., the barbaric Mumbai Attack of 26/11 happened. As a lad, it was not easy to comprehend what occurred back then, but those scenes still have rooted deep down in my head and give me a chill.
We have seen and been through sleepless nights.
After his successful completion as Deputy Commandant on deputation, he was promoted as “Second-in-commandant”, aka 2ic and was then repatriated back to C.R.P.F. He was posted in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, when the scenarios and situation of the place were worst. It was a red zone Naxalite area. We had seen and been through sleepless nights when he used to go for different operations. We couldn’t contact or ask anyone how he was or where he was, and it was tough for us because, after an extended period, we were living apart from him, and things were not in good shape.
He served four years in Narayanpur, and on February 16th 2013, he was promoted to ‘Commandant’ aka Tiger. As a commanding officer, he led the operation ‘Abuzmada’, a red zone area and interstate operation. After his triumphant completion of all four years, he was posted in distinct states and districts like New Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and places like Kupwara, Badgam, and Shivpora. During the abrogation of this Article 370 and is presently tactfully handling his Bn in the highly infested terrorist-prone area of Srinagar.
25 years of his impeccable journey.
His positive and immaculate approach to situations holds his juniors in awe and is also appreciated by his seniors. In addition, his fitness level, even after 25 years of service, is an example to all, and it can be said that age is not a criterion but a state of mind.
He not only does have the steadfast support of his juniors but is also appreciated by his seniors. Twenty-five years of his journey was never easy for him or us. There were ups and downs, moments of laughter and sorrow we came across together. He’s my warrior, fighter trooper to whom I look upon. But, he’s not a hero or icon who would be safe eternally.
He’s a living example of “tejsvi navdhitmastu”, which means – “Let brilliance emerge out of our endeavours.” In his 25 years of excellence, he was presented with D.G. Disk twice in C.R.P.F. and once in N.S.G. Not just this, but they also have been vested with an Internal Security medal. Still left with his eight years of service, as a proud daughter of a paramilitary officer, I can say that he didn’t just make me feel safe and secure by him but the whole nation.
He’s not just a prudent man but a good father, a loving husband, a caring son and a warrior for the nation. I love him as a father and respect him as a man of courage.
