Rahul Gandhi Has Been Summoned By The ED Yet Again

Rahul Gandhi

Is the Bharatiya Janta Party testing an opportunity to checkmate Rahul Gandhi, with the Congress electorally declining and being decimated? Or is it politically rushing to ward off the impact of Gandhi’s offensive against the short-sightedness of the Modi government?

Otherwise, the ED (Directorate of Enforcement) wouldn’t have reason to question him in a case where he has been given a reprieve in 2015.

The facts of matter should be made clear before the common and ordinary people, thoroughly anticipating the outcome, with a kind of vulnerability and vendetta being played against the opposition.

The people are challenging the muscle and might of a dispensation, high on perceptions and populism, using protests, dissents and movements running contrary to the state’s views and values.

This has been critically acclaimed. Thus, there have been a spate of political leaders, individuals and activists, who have been grilled and hounded on one pretext or other, with Gandhi being no exception.

As the scion of a party leading the national freedom struggle, he is being punished. The rule book is selectively applied on actors, considering the damage it could bring to a power that has been highly corporatised, bureaucratised and communalised.

This has been done challenging the very basics and basis of an argumentative Indian, who has always stood their ground, as a born dissenter.

Speaking truth to power is the ultimate art and duty, which has to be preserved, nurtured and nourished!
