Hi Papa
Would you be able to read this poem,
Do the mails reach you in heaven,
Do they have access to the internet,
Do they help your souls to heal and leaven?
From the day you left us,
Life has never been the same,
Everyone’s learning to live without you,
Memories keep sliding in the frame.
We saw the colours of the world,
You saved us from,
Life now feels like a roof-less home,
Through every storm.
He follows your footsteps,
Your son has shouldered your responsibility,
Difficult it gets some days,
But what may come, he fulfils his duty.
Your daughter?
She’s fine too,
As brave as you raised her
As honest and true.
I still get up baffled from mid-sleep,
Recalling your plight,
What you went through in your last,
Still haunts me every night.
I am learning to accept,
the time and its wheel,
Hoping the pain to vanish one day,
Don’t worry I will heal.
I walk this Earth as human as others,
But I wish I could let you know,
Life doesn’t sadden or make happy,
Beneath this numbness, nothing makes sense anymore.
Your principles your lessons,
I do still abide,
I live up to your name,
I honour your pride.
Your daughter is here now,
Wearing your shoes,
Being the pillar as strong as she can be,
Holding on to your values.
I do not cry anymore,
I do not search for you here,
Because I know when my eyes close,
I too will you meet you there.
And then when we meet,
We shall have tea,
Debate on politics again,
And then disagree.
You always told the world,
Your daughter was a magical stone,
You trusted her strength so much,
That you left her alone.
I wish you are healthier and happier,
Your realm merrier, your heart at ease,
I hope they let you read my poem there papa,
I hope you are at peace..
