Sonia Gandhi appears to be upset at the unusual challenges standing before the party these days. Presently, the Congress party is beset with desertions and defections. This incarnation, supposedly, has seeped into the party politicians who are regularly changing their allegiance to another political party around the political realm.
To further strengthen the grand Congress and its demand value, she has been making all-out attempts. In this aspect, she sends out an emotional message for absolute unity within the party.
Acknowledging that the outcomes of the Assembly elections of the five states have been both shocking and unbearable, she declared that she had received several credible suggestions to strengthen the party through interactions at the CWC and with other party colleagues.
She also made it clear that she had been truly working in the proper direction in this regard. Perturbed by the bad performance in the polls, she wanted to secure more hold upon the party standing in disarray.
Meanwhile, the assemblage of dissident Congress leaders known as G-23 has hurt her indeed. She moves toward them with a noticeable message.
The disgruntled group has been yearning for reforms within the party. This is as clear as their loyalty to the party.
She laid stress upon the need for cohesion, uttering that she was determined to ensure unity within the party fold under every circumstance. It is frustratingly a difficult burden for her who looks committed to infusing fresh oxygen to the party to get a lot of tangible results.
