Actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has a knack for shifting political obedience and loyalties. From BJP to Congress and now with Trinamool, he will try whatever it would take for him to win the Asansol seat going for parliamentary by-polls.
Trinamool though has never won this seat and if it does then it will be a miracle, bringing Shatrughan to the limelight as for his sharpness, steadiness and swiftness in knowing where the wind is blowing.
Shatrughan previously won from the Patna Sahib seat on the BJP ticket but lost the seat contesting on Congress’s ticket with this constituency being the bastion of the BJP. Though Shatrughan has never looked back since, an appetite for a crucial win is what is holding his spirits up and higher.
Knowing what defeat can bring to him as Didi may not like to offend another of Sinha’s colleagues, Yashwant Sinha, closely working with him as his colleague in BJP. Didi fully knows what it would mean to upset TMCs electoral equations and arithmetic in regions where it is on a weak wicket.
Irking a person of Yashwant Sinha’s eminence and stature may actually make Trinamool vulnerable to cracks and crisis which Mamta Banerjee wouldn’t want at any cost with BJP being the prime beneficiary.
Thus, the two Sinha’s should be dealt with wisely, assigned party and organisational specific roles, ranks and responsibilities which they can discharge with the fullest of their expression, precision and perfection having closely cooperated and coordinated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee unleashing BJP to newer heights from where it has extended only further touching peak and zenith in different geographies and regions.
Is an admiration and adoration for the ideology of social and cultural nationalism and not pluralism enough to get it through in the ballot? Maybe. Shatrughan Sinha is well up to the task of knowing his bargains and purchases by politically being correct and incorrect depending on situations and circumstances allowing him to devise his context and content.
