OTT platforms are becoming competitive and cheesy with their content. The website has an inspiring background and description to go along with the film that entertains its audience, but at the same time, it is making art more commercialised and corporatised by putting the potential and capability of actors to test, where the burden of aspirations and ambitions is on their shoulders.
Falling short of exciting public imaginations is dubbed as a failure on the part of an actor building a career out of his silver screen success and presence. In my opinion, this can have long-term complications on the cinematic postures, presentation and performance of those stars and celebrities whom we adore and rever in all our esteem.
I don’t understand why OTTs are literally becoming into fast food clubs where the focus is more on the supply and demand side rather than on craft and creativity, which matters a ton for those wanting to be heard and recognised in a place wherein the end is cutthroat competition decides who gets what, when, where and how.
Not being from the privileged league intensifies the struggle deeper where striving for excellence is the sole motto and mantra. Did anyone shoot to fame simply by starring in OTTs? Maybe a few would have due to a flicker of hope, but the rest have not been so lucky.
