The Youth Ki Awaaz platform has undergone a major update today and we are excited to share all the changes with you.
Over the last few weeks, YKA’s tech and product team has been working hard to improve the platform on many fronts, the primary one being speed.
The new Youth Ki Awaaz website is optimised to open extremely quickly and give you a seamless, app-like experience.
Not only will you be able to get through the content faster, but we’ve also built upon and improved our search, discoverability and publishing tech too.
Below is a list of new features we have released, and some that we have temporarily removed, and will be back soon:
Introducing An OTP-Based Login
The first thing to note is that we have paused our social media login. For writers, this means that you will now be required to input your email ID – the same one you use to log in to your social media account.
You will then get an OTP, upon entering which, you will be able to access YKA’s writing platform. In case you are unable to do so, or face a problem in getting the OTP, please send us an email at info@youthkiawaaz.com and we will sort this out for you.
Much Faster Speed
While optimising for speed, we’ve prioritised the loading of certain elements over others. For instance, the core content of the post will load much faster than the elements around it. If there’s an element that takes more than 3 seconds to load, feel free to hit us up at info@youthkiawaaz.com with a screenshot and we will look into it right away.
New Publishing Tech
Our writing page has improved too. You will now experience a cleaner, simpler writing page, and the publishing should happen in a matter of a second. The toolbar used to bolden and italicise text has been changed too. Just select the text you wish to format and the toolbar will appear.
Issues With Post Views And Follower Count
You will not be able to view your post views temporarily. While every view is being recorded in our backend, we have temporarily disabled the display of it as it was conflicting with the website speed – making the reading experience a lot slower. Having said that, we will be bringing it back in the next 10-12 days and will send across an update when we do so. Similarly, for some of you, the follower count might have turned zero.
If you face this issue, it’s a caching glitch and we will fix it for you. Send us an email at info@youthkiawaaz.com and we will get to it right away.
The new website has been developed and designed keeping in mind and prioritising a much better user experience for you. We hope you enjoy the writing experience and share it with the world.
