Poem: Embrace Peace To Wipe Off The Splotches

A flag with the word peace written on it unfurled

Within a short span
of untimely moves,
a country was plundered,
Its ATMs clogged.
Its demand for subsistence outweighed,
airports blasted.
Old wounds of Chernobyl reinstated,
boundless refugees to the boundaries.
Like the kites in the sky,
shells and missiles fired,
dulling the air to black fog.

Not only Ukraine,
Afghanistan is another martyr.
I know only two,
you may know few others
whose pleas were heard by
the whole world as it stood helpless.

The nub of problem,
lies in the mind that weeds war,
that finds contentment in blood.
Let’s crush away,
the gatecrashing intention,
that splotches humanity,
for the sake of humankind.

A.R. RAHMAN - Pray For Me Brother

Let us unanimously
say no to war,
crave for concordance,
pray for the stranded,
embrace peace,
endorse non-violence,
encourage vocally,
eliminate disasters,
like the great pandemic
(was fought)
has taught us.
