We Need To Take Of Anxiety Problems But Not On Google

Have you ever Googled about anxiety, depression, or any other mental illness? If yes, you’ve been through this stage or maybe you are bearing through. Isn’t this weird that psychological acts such as anxiety, stress and depression have taken us on Google to search about the symptoms or treatments. But if you think about it, it’s a vast and prolonged keyword that is searched on Google or any other seacrh engine for fetching the results that the prospect wants.
Google is commonly used to find the answers to our queries, I recently used Google Trends to search for the most relevant topics worldwide, I randomly entered the word Mental Health and compared it with anxiety, Breakdown and Healing, and the results shocked me. Anxiety was an average search in the results I got by comparing the worldwide trends in 4 hours. Later, I even compared the trends for India which revealed a similar picture. Many people suffer from anxiety regularly, which is also heartbreaking to know.

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a state of feeling worried and apprehensive. We cannot define anxiety in simple terms as it is a crucial on how they will respond to a particular scenario. There is a vast multitude of anxiety disorders that cause worry, stress due to social, work, personal health reasons. There are different types of anxiety disorders, including panic attacks, nervousness, social anxiety etc.

According to Our World In Data, the anxiety disorder statistics in 2017 was 284 million worldwide, of which 2.8% were male and 4.7% were female. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the US, affecting 40 million adults in the United States aged 18 and above. It affects 18.1% of the population every year.

Then why do people use Google for help and therapy without visiting doctors? Why does this disorder needs to be concealed under the supervision of a psychologist and not on Google?

By examining these statistics, we should consider that anxiety disorder is a critical part of our society and needs to be accepted. Acceptance that this stage is normal, and normalizing the psychological disorders so that the individual can visit the psychologist or seek any help without much of a thinking is vital and needs to be attended immediately.
