Congress has stayed sharply ahead of its rivals in planning, proposing and cancelling its electoral rallies in the state with an uptick in Corona numbers. However, the voters will decide their fate at the ballot.
Still, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has energised the ranks and cadres of a party that has been at the receiving end over the years for its ineptness, indecisiveness and inability to cater to the hopes and aspirations of the common and the ordinary.
Its schemes and policies weren’t short-lived but couldn’t convince the ordinary and straightforward for its tardy implementation. Had the party focussed a bit more than things could have been different for a party trying to reorder and reorient itself, organising, mobilising and galvanising on issues like the pandemic and unemployment.
From Uttar Pradesh to Uttarakhand, the party’s at the task of taking up what other parties are politely refusing. However, it’s too early to entertain a commentary for the grand old party, which may find itself lost in swinging to translations in the absence of a blueprint.
For lack of clarity and consensus on factional feuds and competing claims, they are chaotically confusing and contrasting aims to forge alliances and understanding with different sections and strata.
