Why Do We Take Our Mental Health Less Seriously Than Our Physical Health?

When it comes to physical fitness, we tend to stock up protein intake, make our diet chart and add on nutritious food just because we don’t want to see one more kilogram on a weighing machine. But on the other hand, when it comes to our mental fitness diet, we either snap it off or sleep it off and forget the make a portion of nutritious food for our mental health.

We tend to hide in the burrow. We feel unmoor and uncomfortable to seek support and share our emotions. Why does the word ‘compromise’ play a role in our mental health and we neglect it like useless material?

Why can’t we cry on our spilt milk if it has spilt owing to some reason? Why is crying, if we want to, not normal? Just because of the curtain of people judgements, we can’t hide our emotions and the value of who we are. It’s time to speak up for your mental health and give more power to it.

If you are in a low point of life, it’s your time to speak and vent out those emotions rather than cursing your negative phase in your life. Speak up to find solutions to those hard problems because “your voice, your problem, your mental health matter.”

Seek support from your parents and loved ones, make them your active listener with whom you can share your thoughts without any judgements. And if you don’t seek support from them, look for the best therapists and counselling sessions around you. Making it normal to take therapy sessions is as normal as going to a gym to strengthen muscles thus, by going for counselling sessions you are making your brain muscles stronger.

Often, because of others’ opinions, we compress ourselves and add less value to our lives. We tend to neglect what we want and therefore, it becomes the root cause of our negative mental health. Dear zindagi, it’s your life don’t hide your feathers, feel free to fly in the sky where you can reach because your life matters with your opinions.
