training program on chemical-free vegetable cultivation

India is the second-most populous country in the world. With the increasing population and the cultivable land, the resource is shrinking day by day. To meet the need for food. Farmers started following modern agriculture technologies such as greater use of synthetic agrochemicals like fertilizers and pesticides undoubtedly it has increased production and labor efficiency. But excessive use of chemicals puts a question mark on the sustainability of agriculture in the long run and human health.

In this case, KGVK has developed a free training module for rural youth/farmers on chemical-free vegetable cultivation. It was a 3 days training program from 19/10/21 to 23/10/21. The name of training is skill development training in chemical-free farming on vegetable cultivation. A progressive farmer from different project areas of FRDP and HRDP under HDFC Bank attended the three days training programs, where Guest Faculty Mr. Rohan Gupta gave the theory and practical training.

Thematic Expert Mr. Kumar Saurav and Guest Faculty Rohan Gupta have done the exposure visit to the farm at Dubuliya Kanke Block where participants learned about the multi-layer farming, how red banana plantation takes steps towards economical farming, understing the function of drip irrigation, intercropping, preparation of Amritjal at Dubali by the participants and how cow urine collection in the cowshed for organic pesticides preparation.

The participants how attended the training program get a certificate from KGVK and they will be able to understand how chemical-free farming will sustainable agriculture and good human health. Instead of using agrichemical, they can use natural fertilizer such as cow dung or urine, etc. to stimulate quality and quantity of production.
