Can We Have Other Bases Of Practicing Reservation?

Reservation of jobs for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes in India is a prickly matter nowadays. The time when it came into force was undoubtedly one of the most appropriate steps taken by the Government of India to steer the subject of on-ground imbalances of caste and religion. Eventually, the transition could not modify the approach so adopted. With the shifts over time, the effort has worn out and what is left is an impaired system of governance. It turned into the anguish of the unreserved castes at a mass level.

Here comes my stance!

What the government did not do is partially on the track and the rest is off-track. It might be a jaw drop of a few fellows. Yet, let me elucidate the rationale behind the whole thing.

Reservation of jobs for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes in India is a prickly matter nowadays.

It is a mistake to say that reservations are wrong. The aspect that turns it into the poor side is the factor on which it is granted. To regain the boons, the failing part should be superseded with a satisfactory substitute that is gender. The answer to the question ‘Why gender?’ is the simple advantage that there is no individual present on the Earth who is genderless.

Science might develop such a person, but up to my knowledge, there is no such person in India to date. It merely signifies that a person born always has a gender. Or gender as a basis covers every being in the world. The disparity between the two is the scope of the benefits arising out of it. The caste against gender has limited scope to aid only to the particular section of people as cited above.

Whether it is a government or non-government, profit-oriented or not-for-profit, or any other sort of organisation, utilising human resources, should give everyone an equal and fair chance of seizing the opportunity to show and excel at their acquired skills and knowledge through reservations based on gender. Entire posts in the organisation should hold a single candidate of each gender keeping in mind the facts and circumstances.

(Just an instance! For the task of being a warden of a girl’s hostel, the candidature given by a male is highly improper.)
