A fruit vendor in rural Karnataka sold oranges for 10 years and constructed a school in his village. Here is the Tale of Harekala Hajabba, who gained the Padma Shri Award for his commendable exertion by President Ram Nath Kovind.
68- year-aged Harekala Hajabba, a fruit seller from Mangalore in Karnataka, is an illustration for the planet that reveals that one Almighty God can do excellent items through whoever he wants.
The Tale of Harekala shows that God can do something major like building a school via even those people who themselves are uneducated and downtrodden. The only things you need are motive and determination to try and do anything for the world we reside in.

Harekala was bestowed India’s fourth-highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, from the hands of President Ram Nath Kovind for his remarkable hard work of creating a primary school together with his earnings of ₹150 daily.
But what was the motive behind the school? Many years ago, when a foreign tourist asked him the price of an orange in English, he was humiliated since he did not understand what was stated. He had not had the benefit of any formal schooling. He mentioned, “That day, I vowed to build a school.”
According to a source, Harekala’s hamlet Newpadapu was without a school for a very long time. Every one of the village youngsters was being denied the right to an education. He reported that he never ever got the possibility to access schooling, and he didn’t want the youngsters in the area to experience the same thing he did.
Then, in 2000, Harekala put all of his life savings into creating a school on one acre of property. The school now has 175 pupils and courses up to tenth grade.
Harekala was to obtain the Padma Shri award in January 2020. However, due to the pandemic, the function couldn’t be held before. President Ram Nath Kovind presented Padma Awards at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday. The Padma Awards list for 2021 contains seven Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan, and 102 Padma Shri Awards, with 29 winners being women and one transgender person.
The Indian government is supplying the Padma Awards in several categories, such as art, social work, general public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medical, literature and education, sports and civil service.
