New Delhi: Ministry of Education along with AICTE will be organizing a webinar on the theme of ‘National Education Policy 2020: Realizing Aspirations of the 21st Century Youth’ from11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.on 06 Oct 2021. Celebrating the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, both Ministry of Education & AICTE are delighted to showcase progressive India’s academic achievements through this seminar.Dr.K. Kasturirangan, Chairman, National Education Policy Committee and former Chairman, ISRO will gracethe inaugural session as the Chief Guest. Keynote Address will be delivered by Sh.Pramath Raj Sinha, founding Dean of Indian School of Business, founder of Harappa Education, Ashoka University, Haryana. Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Education, Hon’ble Chairman,Vice-Chairman, and Member Secretary, AICTE will also address the inaugural session.
Ministry of Education, GoI has taken concrete steps to ensure effective implementation of NEP. In line with NEP, AICTE has innovated its role towards transformation from a mere regulator to a facilitator and an enabler. The council in its endeavor to encourage academic excellence and innovations in technical education has taken several quality initiatives such as multidisciplinary education clusters, rigorous, continuous faculty development programs, twinning Program with credit transfers from collaborating universities abroad, robust, transparent online approval process based on self-disclosure and National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) Enhancement in Learning with Improvement in Skills (ELIS) and AICTE Internship portal, to name a few.
The council has aggressively developed, promoted and encouraged online courses/blended mode through SWAYAM to enhance GER, encouraged inclusivity through scholarships – PRAGATIpromoting girls,SAKSHAM promoting Divyangfor higher technical education and launched a new scheme SWANATH providing scholarships to children who lost their parents due to COVID, and other reasons.IDEA Lab (Idea Development, Evaluation and Application) scheme is promoting equitable and inclusive multidisciplinary research, strong industry linkage and pooling of resources. The objective is to transform technical education by empowering young minds with cutting edge tools, processes, and skills for Aatmnirbhar Bharat.
AICTE’s Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy has imparted training to more than 2.85 lakh faculty members on emerging niche areas such as IoT, ML, DL, AR/VR, Robotics, Block Chain Mgmt etc. through one weeklongfaculty development programmes.Technical book writing and translation scheme have translated and provided content in 12 Indian languages through AICTE’s AI based language translation tool. Translation of SWAYAM courses of first year engineering in Indian languages has also been undertaken.Student Learning Assessment (SLA) project has been launched to assess holistic learning.
The portal on Indian Knowledge System has been developed to integrate set of skills and rich cultural heritage of India such as Ayurveda, traditional diet system, yoga, astronomy, vedic mathematics, ideal daily routine, mining and metallurgy based onexcavation historical evidences.
Ministry of Education and AICTE through all its schemes, and endevours is committed to implement National Education Policy in letter and spirit. It is continuously designing programmes and executing them to fulfil objectives of NEP i.e. inclusivity, diversity, quality and accountability.
