Is it true when we say we feel hopeless? Hopelessness is subjective and has varied explanations for varied situations. Do we find new hope when we’re hopeless? Is being hopeless a necessity for finding hope?
There was a time when she couldn’t find why she was failing every time she started something new or planned in advance and was optimistic of things going well. Everyone with whom she shared her story would tell her, “You’ll do better, chill!” Is it about being chill when you don’t get what you wanted? Is it possible to maintain a ‘chill’ mindset? She pondered for hours and hours together. What is going wrong? Is her approach wrong? Is it because she’s always messing things up? Umm well, is it bad to practise? Oh no, she was heading somewhere else than where it was needed. Oops.
Hope is something you miraculously find out when you’re hopeless. Does it mean you need to be hopeless to find hope? No. You need to wait. Time is a crooked person, it keeps changing whenever, however. But it always changes for the good.
Imagine a person who has lost their entirety, money, family, ambitions, dreams and everything. Still, they have one thing they haven’t lost, and that is courage — the courage to stand up and show them who they are, even if they have lost everything. Courage is that one string that holds a person close enough to their dreams. They lose everything only to find that extra amount of satisfaction when they gain back everything.
Hope arrives at your doorstep when hopelessness has been your guest for weeks. Hope evades the presence of hopelessness and is achieved by courage as your home. You might lose stuff, you might lose your entirety, you might lose your health, you might lose money, dreams, kith and kin and possibly everything you want. But time shall heal everything. You just gotta stay strong and face everything that comes ahead of you.
