Modi government’s cabinet expansion is but an electoral exercise for fishing out of troubled and testing waters. How else would they ideally and intelligently persuade the voters if not for their monumental misses in sharply dealing with a pandemic like Corona?
I believe a lot of ordinary lives could have been saved if for the arrangement and planning of medical resources and facilities. There were lessons in sight, but for a regime high on majoritarian might, such memories hardly affect and alter their prospects and possibilities.
The induction of new faces in the cabinet may make headlines but how will it ensure accountability and transparency for the policy adventurism of this government? Why are they shirking from owning and accepting their fault at the first instance as for dearly losing and clearly winning an electoral race? Pleading guilty won’t work in the long run Mr Prime Minister as people won’t accept being taken for a ride.
