Trigger Warning: Covid deaths
These are tough times for all. Deaths, deaths and deaths everywhere! Covid-19 has not spared anyone. Almost every family has lost one or more member. The virus has made it difficult to live here on Earth. But as every cloud has a silver lining to it, this situation, too, is experiencing the resurgence of humanity.
Many good samaritans are coming out to lend a helping hand to the needy ones. However, in these times, the help might not come in direct touch with those in need. Many are helping by far away.
I can see these good samaritans helping by sharing contact numbers of oxygen distributors and refillers on social media. This virus has killed many people, but it has also given rise to the long-lost apathy of humanity.
Not a single day goes without hearing the news of deaths. In India, particularly, we have many strains of the coronavirus in the air. This is making the situation even worse for the country. We cannot merely blame the government for this. Our own behaviour is, to an extent, also responsible for this second wave.
Had we worn masks as told by the authorities, we could have still controlled the situation. This remains one of the reasons why India is seeing a high death toll. The current coronavirus situation portrays a grim reality, but this also reflects a bitter truth about all of us — our ignorant mindset.
There are many lessons that we can learn from the present times. Firstly, always be thankful to God, for you may have less today, but there are others who may have even lesser than you in life. Secondly, ignorant behaviour does not beget any good. It can never do anything good to anyone. Thirdly, those of us who are alive still stand a chance to play a positive, vital role in making this world a better place for all.
