I want to start this blog by sharing some information that is accessible to each one of us. Atleast 7.35 million people lost their jobs in April 2021.
This pandemic has literally ruined the lives of people who have lost their family members and those who have survived are in dire need of employment to run their livelihood and put food on the table. I am writing this story because very few people are talking about it and the most problematic statement I find is “please stay at home” and “online is the new offline”.
In India, most people have jobs that require them to be in the office or in the field, including engineers, doctors, and lawyers. So people saying online is the new offline should also talk about those people who have lost their jobs in this pandemic. Regardless of their talent, their jobs require them to be out of home and due to the lockdown, they have lost their jobs.
Only a few online platforms are in profit and I do not have any issue with that. It is great that people can have their food supplies delivered to their homes. But let’s talk about how we can compensate apart from the donations to bring those unemployed back to their livelihood.
This is an observation. Whosoever is reading this can give me feedback. I will welcome that. I do not have any intention to offend anyone through this blog.
