Delhi’s duo Shahab and Joshil Abraham have been slogging night and day to save innumerable lives there and give them at least a fighting chance against this dreadful disease called Covid-19. Helping people access oxygen equipment, including cylinders, flowmeters, and oxygen masks is their daily routine these days. Why? What do they get out of it? As one beloved friend says, “Because Shahab can’t see people in pain”.
Covering the length and breadth of the city, shelling money out of their own pocket, Shahab and Joshil set out to gather and lend all the possible support and solidarity that people need in these scary times.
It is more than half-past eleven in the night and they are still returning from what is hopefully the last call for the day. Praying no one needs them anymore and they get no more SOS calls, Shahab hopes to have his dinner soon and catch a little sleep, if possible.
Does this bring him the eternal kind of happiness? I ask. “Yes”, replies Shahab. Donning the PPE kit and the spirit to help others, Shahab and Joshil have been doing this without any external financial and human support. What comes as an overwhelming shock to me is that they are not charging people in distress a single penny for the most important resource today.
If you would like to lend a helping hand to these champions of humanity with financial support, resources, or your time, please drop a message at the following number: +91-98701 52575, Shahab. You can contribute through Google Pay(GPay). Otherwise, for account details, please contact Shahab personally.
