Is It Really That Important To Celebrate Large-Scale Festivals During A Pandemic?

On one side we are fighting against contagious disease Corona, our Doctors are busy finding the best cure to this disease leaving behind their own family, Media persons got tired of requesting, On the other hand, we unworthy Indians are so absorbed by superstitions and are so obsessed of worship that we are neglecting their efforts who are trying to protect us. If we are so negligent, then it makes no sense to criticize Govt. for their actions too.

We Indians never wanted religious interference, which is okay; this is why even Supreme Court is ineligible on such matters. But shouldn’t they be interfering when it comes to human survival? But again we are so corrupt that even the higher authorities will be exploiting these powers for evil practices. We are so diverse in terms of religious festivals that each day can be celebrated in the name of any religious event. And with this behaviour how can we expect Corona to leave us.

Aren’t we aware that we are witnessing a world health emergency! We should be helping our Doctors in this fight, and we have one way at hand, which is through maintaining social distancing. But no, we think that God is waiting only for us to pray, and he will be blessing us through perishing this virus. But we don’t know which god will be the best to accomplish this task, so that we may let their worthy worshippers do their worshipping. And yes this worshipping will give no result without the factor of accumulation.

Some of us think that these festivals must occur under Govt. surveillance so that people’s faith and govt. code of conduct both are valued. But deep down we know that is not going to benefit in any way. Also Govt. is already overwhelmed with other more relevant responsibilities. It is a known fact that our festivals are very important, and it brings an occasional joy amongst us, but will we be able to celebrate those festivals if we people will not be there to celebrate them. This time we will be risking our lives and others as well through celebrating festivals in a group. Along with all those thousands of gods we also worship our motherland ‘Bharat Mata’, and this time she is under great threat. That’s why if we really love our Motherland and we don’t want any harm to her, we should agree with the Covid norms.

As a citizen, we would be conferring a great help to the Govt. and Doctors through following the Covid norms. And we should remember that ‘God help those who help themselves.
